Huston - 19 Months

Huston, this past month has flown by!  Now that you have all of your teeth in, you are so funny and happy all of the time.  You are constantly sharing your goofy grins with us and love attention....especially when you dance.  As always, you love to dance, but you have added some new moves.  You use your conductor arms and added some new footwork too.  Within seconds of hearing music you are a dancing machine.

This month we dropped your crib into a big boy bed and you are doing really well in it!  It's hard to get you down for naps, but you do sleep in it all night long.  Well, twice you've been on the floor when we've come in there, so not sure if you are rolling out or getting up and playing and falling back asleep.  I can tell you really like it though, because you will get in it and you look so proud of yourself.

Your nose doesn't run as much as it used to, but you have learned how to blow it yourself and even like to pick your boogs.  Unfortunately for me, you like me to see them when you are done.

One thing that Dad and I really love is your kisses and hugs.  Pretty much anytime we ask you, you will give us one of either.  Lately you have mastered the art of giving bear hugs.  You will just walk up and wrap  your little arms around my neck and squeeze really hard.  I love it because you do it for no reason at all most of the time.  You are still my little cuddler in the evenings too.  You'll climb up on the couch with me and we'll play with your toes, you'll free fall on me, we'll hide under the blanket and play peek a boo and of course, lots of tickles sneak in too.  Then when you get tired you cuddle.  Some days you cuddle with dad, some days with me.  I'm glad that you like to switch it up so neither of us gets jealous :)

'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes' is your favorite song right now.  Out of the blue you will start singing it and touch your head, toes and nose.  Sometimes you will even go get the DVD case for your Baby Einstein that has it on there and bring it to us.

We finally got you to eat meat!  In the form of chicken nuggets from Chic fil A, but I'll take it!  You will eat a whole kids meal from there, and sometimes part of ours.  You are getting better about trying new things, but you are still a bread, fruit and cheese man.  Anytime we give you any food, even if it's just a cracker or string cheese, you want a bowl or plate.  You will get one out of your drawer and put the food on it and carry it to the coffee table and sit down in your little Toy Story chair.  It's so cute.

The other day Dad was swinging you back and forth and he started counting down, "One...." and before he could say "Two", you did!  Now anytime you hear the word One you follow it by Two.  Sometimes Three follows too, but you should have seen your our faces when you did it the first time!  We were so proud of you.

We recently got you a Handy Manny toolbox and the tools dance and sing (when we have that part on, you haven't discovered the on/off switch yet thank goodness).  You also love the cartoon, so lately you walk around the house singing your version of "Hop up, Jump in".  I made you a playlist on my iPhone with your favorite songs and you get so excited when you hear them.

You have the sweetest little voice and you have really started talking a lot!  Even when you aren't talking you are practicing making sounds.  We'll hear hissing, growling, rolling your tongue and pretty soon, a new word comes out of your mouth.  Some of your new ones are:  school, rain, poop, goose, quack, cow, moo, bye-bye, papa, milk, crackers.  We didn't even know you could say Papa but on the phone with Papa Pat you just blurted it out.

I know I say this every time, but we can't say it enough.  We love you so much and are so lucky to have you!  You make every day better and can always make us smile.
