1.5 years!

Huston, I can't believe my baby boy is a year and a half old tomorrow.  Somehow a YEAR and a HALF seems so much older than 17 months.  I cannot get over how much has changed in a month.  You are learning so much everyday.

To start with your vocabulary is growing and growing.  Some of your new words are:  night-night, momma, more, Woody, shoe, fall, milk, car, cold, toes, dog, cheese (both to smile and eat), cold.  There are probably many more that I haven't deciphered yet - you talk nonstop so I'm still trying to catch them all.  Everytime you see a picture of your dad you make sure to point out "Daaaaa".  Still waiting for you to discover me!

You are totally in to Toy Story.  You recognize it everywhere we go, even on band-aids, and oooh and aaah over it.  Nana Dede sent you a Buzz and Daddy got you the matching Woody and you want to take them everywhere.  I'm glad you finally got the toys, because you used to carry the movie case around with you all day.

You really like your daycare and are learning more everyday.  They love you to pieces, but say you are very "busy" and "curious" and like to climb on things you aren't supposed to.  I guess our dance parties on the coffee table may have been a bad idea....  They also you told me you sleep with your head covered up with your blanket.  I got to see this first hand when I picked you up early once.

You know where your eyes and nose are and love to show momma hers too.  Which is pretty dangerous considering that I just had LASIK.  But it's still super cute.  I drew Elmo for you the other day and you recognized it and went and got the one Auntie Katie gave you and brought it to me.  I was proud of you for knowing Elmo and a little proud of my drawing skills, too :)

You absolutely love to read.  Your favorite book has been 8 Silly Monkeys for some time, but we recently got you a Toy Story one too because you carry the movie case around.  You are just now getting interested in tv shows and cartoons.  Your favorite ones are the ones that have music because you LOVE to dance!  If we take you to the mall, you run into American Eagle or A&F because you like their music the best.

You just about have all of your teeth now, you are working on your eye teeth and they and hurting you pretty bad.  I'll be so glad when you finally get past all that, because I hate it when I can't make you feel better.

You have become very helpful picking up your messes.  It make take us a few times to tell you, but you will pick up what you left out and put it away in the right place.  So much so, sometimes I can't find things!  The other day you put away your laundry after I changed you and I kept trying to find those pjs!!  You also will try to throw away your own trash, but I think it might be why some items have "disappeared".

The other day you learned how to pull out the chair and sit at the kitchen table by yourself.  You sat there for almost an hour playing with some toys you got at your friend Jackson's birthday party.  Yes, you went to your first birthday party!  You stole the birthday boys hat and wore it the whole party, you hit the birthday boy on the head with a Handy Manny hammer and you got icing on their carpet.  But, you did have fun.

We love you so much and are so proud of you everyday.  You make us so happy and are totally worth all the dirty diapers, the runny nose and the food crumbs all over the house......
