Huston Turns THREE

I can't believe my baby boy is three years old.  Looking at the pics above, I see that you are growing up, but it is flying by so fast.  I wish I had better words to tell you how much I love you and how proud I am of you every day.  You are so smart, funny, handsome, sweet and are growing up to be such a charming young man.

We have had a really busy month, we moved into a new home, you changed schools, you saw Thomas the Train, we went to Disneyland and had lots of birthday festivities!  You had a party at school, a party with family at Nama's, and Gramma and Poppop came and spent your actually birthday with you.

You went to see Thomas the Train with Nama and Grandpa while Daddy and I moved.  You had lots of fun and Nama took some great pics.

You are full of funny new Hustonisms lately:
"That's too much" - you don't like the flavor or something is too loud
"It's behind me" - you will turn your back to something, just so you can say that
"Want to buy that" - anything you see on tv that you like
"I free" - when someone asks your age (3)
"Oh my goodness" - this just cracks me up
"Mommy, I need you" - when you need some cuddles
"What him/her name?" - anyone you see (even animals, characters)
"Everybody...." - You mix up somebody and everybody. Example:  "Everybody threw that trash down"

Probably my favorite though is this conversation.  You crawl into bed with us about 4am pretty much every morning.  You have learned that when you wake me up (or anytime I move lately) I have to get up to pee.  The other day you woke me up, shaking my arm and said "Mommy, go pee".  Since I was awake anyway, I got up to do so.  As soon as I got up you said, "Mommy will you get me milk while you are up?".  Little trickster.

You are also very interested in your little brother. You are starting to add him in when you show us which toys are Mommy, Daddy & Huston.  You'll ask questions and tell me what we need to prepare for him.  You've even managed your jealousy when you see that someone gives us a gift for baby that you want (like the Buzz hoodie Nama got him at Disneyland).  The other day you tried to feed him.....by putting a Cheetos in my belly button.  You said "Nolan wants a Cheetos" and stuck it right in.  In your defense, I did once explain that belly buttons are where babies get their food.

You are learning at lot at your new school too.  You have come home doing the Pledge of Allegiance, a prayer before eating and lots of artwork and stories.

Right now your favorite toys are the Disney Cars, Legos, bubbles, and dinosaurs.  You like to watch Penguins of Madagascar, Clifford the Red Dog and Dinosaur Train.  You have also discovered that our new neighborhood has cats.  So you and Daddy now walk around in the evenings and look for them.  You have named an orange one, Pumpkin.  Probably one of my proudest moments of you this month, is when Daddy brought you home while I was packing your room.  I had a pretty big pile of Goodwill donations, stuff that you never play with or have outgrown.  You came home and started throwing a fit saying Daddy was taking your toys while he loaded them.  I explained to you that every year right before your birthday we were going to do this so other little kids could get some new toys.  You thought about it for a few minutes then said, "Ohhhhhhhhkay".

You are finally getting an appetite and actually eat meals now!  This is huge news for us.  Some of your favorites are mac and cheese, chicken nuggets and corndogs - typical kid food.  But you have found a new love for Trix, popcorn and slurpees too.

You also love to hear music.  Daddy played the song, "Going Back to Houston" for you and it is a hit.  You smile so big and sing along.  You have also started singing along to the theme song for "Family Guy", so.....I guess we need to start watching our shows when you aren't around :)

Happy Birthday Baby boy!  We love you bunches!
